During the months of December to March you can observe whales in the Sea of Cortez. Do not miss this natural spectacle and go planning your trip.
From December to March there is no better place in Mexico to see whales than Los Cabos. It turns out that the gray and humpback whale, along with other
species of whales, make a crossing of more than 19 thousand kilometers to give birth and to take care of their young in the Sea of Cortes during the winter,
due to the shallow depth of its waters and the good weather of Baja California, which represents a great natural spectacle.
Hundreds of traveling whales arriving from the Arctic to Baja California can be seen during these dates, some of them can be seen from the beach, of course
always accompanied by binoculars and patience or if you prefer you can do it on board a boat. From Los Cabos we offer some tours: photographic safaris, travel
with marine experts, or simply follow the route that marks one of these whales and accompany it in a small tour.
The whale sanctuary of Bahía Magdalena and the lagoon of San Ignacio are among the best places in the area for the observation of these animals.
And the best months to see them is between January and February, where they comment the guides that of 10 trips in 9 you can appreciate the whales.
It should be noted that of the 11 species of whales known in the world, eight come to Mexican coasts, including minke, bryde, sei, humpback, gray and blue.
Each one of them makes a journey of six months which represents the longest journey of all the migratory species of the planet.
Of all the humpbacks are those that can be observed more easily in the Sea of Cortez, they are also the most spectacular as they emerge
from the water jumping and hitting its tail in the ocean. Do you dare to make this trip?
